Setup all 4 cameras around the house. Colors are not very realistic but ok for surveillance purposes. Motion recording works good and it has captured several critters walking around in my yard I didn't know about! Networking access works well and I've opened ports on my DSL router to allow access to the cameras and recorded video from anywhere (internet explorer needed some tweaking - added the ip of the DVR to trusted sites list did the trick).
Apps for my iPhone and android phone work good as well and I can view live cameras from my phone anywhere (required some tweaking on the dsl router as well).
All said and done this system is good for the price. I got the extended warranty as I've heard the cameras don't last too long? Time will tell.

I bought this from Amazon for basic home security. I read the reviews and seeing that some were positive, some negative, and others in between...I wasn't expecting a great product. The unit is fine for my basic needs. I just wanted to record around my home. The daytime colors are not accurate and the night vision is limited. However, I figured this would be the case for spending under three hundred. If you want a simple setup that is easy to use, this is a nice choice. If you want high resolution, the ability to expand,or any major features, you will need to find another unit. I have not played with the networking yet as some other steps will be needed because my ISP does not provide a static IP.
